Horsey Doings

Guess who loves horses now? And I had nothing to do with it!! Helaina discovered a show on t.v. called the Saddle Club, all on her own. I actually remember Kristen reading those stories when she was in her pre-teens. I've posted some pictures of Helaina on my horse, Buddy. He is a very safe and dependable mount for beginner ridiers. Wouldn't hurt a flea, right Buddy? Aunt Vicki decided to give it a whirl that day also!! They both did very well!! Any other takers out there?
Meanwhile, guess what Grandma's doing? Someone has to do it!!!

Fall Memories

Before I leave 2008, I wanted to post some pictures of the three Delights of my life, Helaina, Sam, and Jordana. Alan and I visited Helaina's and Sam's school in Oct. for their open house. They attend Royal Ridge Elementary in Willowick. Sam is in kindergarten and Helaina is in 3rd grade.
Jordana was enjoying a beautiful Autumn day at her home in Lexington, Ky. Aren't they they precious?? Well, I think so!!!

Horses need pearly whites too!!

Once a year the horses have their dental check-up also. Only, he comes to them bearing his little tranquilizer shot and dental equipment. It is really quite interesting so I decided to include it in my blog. The shot takes effect very fast and soon they can hardly stand up. The equine dentist then inserts an apparatus to keep their mouths open. They don't respond to OPEN WIDE! His equipment is state of the art and much easier on the horses than the old method of just rasping the teeth with a hand held metal file. Horses teeth keep growing their whole lifetimes and need to have the sharp points smoothed at least once a year to keep them comfortable and eating properly!! Hope you find the pictures interesting!

Meet The Barn Cats!!

We have four adorable barn cats. They are barn cats in name only, as each night they are escorted into a comfy tack room, complete with kitty beds. Two of them, Shake and Chewy, I pursued. The other two, Tipper and Sparky, pursued me. In other words, they just showed up at the barn and said, We're home!! Hopefully, they will keep the rodent population from setting up housekeeping in our barn. Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't feed them so well.

Helaina at bat

Hi all,

I'm going to attempt to catch up on my posts. I wanted to for sure include my grand-daughter, Helaina in action. She got a really good hit, a triple I think, and made it safely to home. Her team was very good and Papa Alan and I really enjoyed her games. Looking forward to more games this coming summer!!

Birthday Girl

Hi Birthday girl!! In honor of your 32nd birthday, I decided to post one of my favorite pictures, and one of your least favorite pics, at least as far as the hair style goes!! Isn't it interesting that you are 32 today and 32 years ago I was giving birth to my little girl?? Well, I thought it was interesting anyway. Where have all the years gone ?

Kris,

Here is a little gift for you, just to let you know that Cash is OK and is still in one piece, Ha Ha!!
Hope you are having a FUN birthday!!
Love, Mom

Spring Happenings

Hi everybody,

Wow! It’s already June and I haven’t posted anything new in quite awhile. That’s because I need to call Kristen and have her walk me through it. Tonite I am going to give it a try. I had pictures of my horse last time so now I’m going to post a picture of what Daniel did this spring. He is very good at running and ran the 800 meter and the 4/800 for his high school track team. I love to watch him run, probably because I can’t!!!

Next, is a picture of our granddaughter, Helaina, waiting to perform in her baton twirling competition!! She loves to twirl and dance and she is really good!!! Isn’t she cute? Her baton group did very well this year and she will be in several parades this summer. She also takes swimming lessons and plays on a baseball team. I hope to get some pictures soon of her other activities.

THE LEDGEND CONTINUES:

Our grandson, Samuel, is now on a baseball team too!! I love watching the little guys and gals play ball. They are soooo cute. And I’m sure Michael is enjoying being a baseball Dad, with many more years to go!

My last picture is of our 2 dogs, playing one of their favorite games. We have a Jack Russell, named Target, and a Goldendoodle, named Murphy. It’s like having two more kids, but we love them. Life would be so sterile without a little dog hair around!!
